One Percent
One percent comes from the idea to create a space for self-initiated projects.
To us, self-initiated projects are as important as commissioned ones. We understand how important it is to develop outputs that reflect our interests and represent our approach to designing. These projects give us the chance to practice, learn new things, improve our skills and are often the ones that lead to new briefs.
We wanted to create and invest in a space to show how this evolves, which we’ll keep updating with briefs that we create for ourselves, without waiting for one in particular to arrive.
One% is also our financial commitment. We set aside 1% of our earnings to develop a selection of products, which we’ll soon be sharing here.
One Percent is the collaborative space of Nicoletta Belardinelli and I.

The simplicity of the shapes represents the concept of ‘primary design’ and the attempt to reduce environmental impact. Moreover, the shapes are not closed forms, but open ones. This is nod to experimentation and innovations, which are the core of Fantoni.
